bi-national couples

On our first date, Fede asked me whether I knew any couples who were bi-national. I could think of several bi-racial couples--but it was a bit harder for me to think of the couples I knew with people from two different countries.

(I remember when he asked me this question thinking that it was some sort of indication that he was hesitant to start a relationship with a non-Mexican--because he did not know of many successful bi-national relationships.)

But now, I know many more bi-national couples:
  1. American - Mexican
  2. American - Taiwanese
  3. American - Chinese
  4. American - German
  5. American - Chilean
  6. American - Irish
  7. American - Australian
  8. Mexican - French
  9. Mexican - Russian
  10. Mexican - Swiss
  11. Swiss - Romanian
  12. Australian - Mexican
  13. Australian - Finnish
  14. Australian - Canadian
I guess we're not so unusual after all.
