About a week ago, Kelli, Kevin and I were walking through the Royal Botanical Gardens and we happened across this small field where about 50 cockatoos were hanging out on the ground. They were not scared of humans. (No, that is not my shoelace that the bird is chewing on.)
Upon closer inspection, they appeared to be eating these nuts that had fallen on the ground.
I sort of wanted to see what the nut tasted like. But, it was so hard, I couldn't crack it open. And I wasn't about the wrestle a bird for one that was already opened. These birds are willing to fight with one another for these nuts.

We enjoyed watching them. And then all of a sudden, they all took flight. Not sure what happened--but it was definitely our signal to move on. The bird show was over.
