test hike

If I am honest with myself I would say: we want to believe that we are hikers, but we are not. Despite that, we do buy things as if we are true hikers. Which is how I ended up buying a hiking backpack to carry Elie in.

To test the comfort level of this backpack, we decided to go to St. Edwards State Park. I love this park. I cannot believe I had never been here before. (See above statement--not real hikers.) The hiking trials are shady--which is perfect on a sunny day. The trials are also short. I'm pretty sure no matter what backpack I used, carrying almost 30 pounds on my back is not going to be comfortable. But it was tolerable for an hour.

I think Elie liked it too. It must be nice having someone carrying you around in a nice shady forest on a hot summer day.
