For those of you who know, we cross the Pyrmont Bridge every time we go into the CBD. From the Pyrmont Bridge, you can see how close the Aquarium is. And yes, it took us over a year to finally visit it.

The first thing we did was watch a platypus swim around. They are such strange looking (but interesting) animals. We sadly couldn't get a good picture since the lighting was dark and the platypus was too fast.

Then, we went to watch the penguins being fed. I believe these are the same types of penguins that live in Sydney--by Manly Beach. I've never seen them in Manly, but I have been told that they are there.

Right after the penguin feeding was the shark feeding. We were told that the lemon sharks are naughty and would sometimes eat the other fish--not just the fish that they were being fed. So, they segregated the lemon sharks from the other sharks and fish.

The other sharks are in a tank with some small fish. Supposedly, the sharks don't eat the other fish because they get fed and so aren't hungry. But Fede and I weren't convinced--if we were a little fish, we wouldn't take a lot of comfort in knowing that the sharks weren't hungry. Those teeth look hungry.

You can go to a tunnel underneath the shark tank and watch the sharks, sting rays, and other fish swim around and above you.

I like how the sting ray's mouth almost looks like a face.

The Great Barrier Reef exhibit is an enormous tank, with tons of fish and sharks and other sea creatures. We sat for awhile, just watching the fish swim around. It made me really want to check out the actual Great Barrier Reef. Sadly, it is unlikely we'll make it there before we leave. But maybe some day...
